The 2017-18 Season will be a transitional time for WSPS. Children's Friend, a local non-profit that provides child welfare, family support, mental health, and child development services, received a grant from the federal government to expand their services and infrastructure, and will be leasing the Asa Messer Annex (our home for the past three years.)  A complete renovation of the space will begin in February and WSPS will need to vacate the building.  WSPS will temporarily relocate to the John Settlement House (7 Thomas P. Whitten Way, fronts Westminster St.) to finish out the season while work is being done at 245 Althea St. When the project is complete next year, WSPS will have brand new, longterm digs in the totally refurbished basement!

What this means for you: WSPS will operate as usual through January 22nd at our current space. Any family may become a member for $10 per month (sliding scale memberships also available.)  Each family is required to fulfill one volunteer shift per month (2 hours) and will be responsible for opening/or closing the space, basic cleaning, and registering new members. Once we shift to the space at John Hope, volunteer responsibilities will be slightly different as opening/closing/cleaning will all be done by John Hope staff. However, every member will still need to fulfill a shift and act as the "host" for each play session. Any registered adult member of a family can fulfill the shift after they have done an orientation (we'll have a brief orientation at the new space, stay tuned.)

As a co-op, relying on volunteers, we ask that all members make every effort to volunteer to help pack up the space and move all our equipment and materials when the time comes.
